Yesterday, we learnt that Victorians in metropolitan Melbourne entered Stage 4 restrictions as of 6:00pm last night and that a State of Disaster has been declared in this area. As a result, golf clubs in these areas have been instructed to close until further advised.
In regional Victoria, stage 3 restrictions will be implemented from 11:59pm on Wednesday, 5th August.
On behalf of GMA, I wanted to reach out and let those affected clubs know that GMA can provide support if required.
For some clubs, this second closure may result in financial distress and therefore increased pressure and stress on managers. If you need assistance, we may be able to recommend a range of services, expertise or support to assist. Alternatively, we may be able link in and connect you with assistance via the GMA network.
I am sure I speak for all GMA members in saying that we are standing with you and will help you in anyway we can, even just through reaching out to check in with clubs.
If you need any assistance, please feel to contact our CEO, Paul Vardy, who can be reached via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or on 0407 867 684, or don't hesitate to contact me or any of our State or National board members.
Also, a reminder that GMA offers a Member Assistance Program through Acacia EAP. More information on the service is available from the GMA website >
Please reach out if you need support.
