In what we all know has been a very challenging year, our Queensland members recently came together for an end of year social, AGM and Golf Day.
The social event on Sunday night took form of a Top Golf competition held on the Gold Coast, with members (and family) and corporate partners along to socialise over dinner and some friendly competition.
Everyone in attendance had a great time and seized the opportunity to just let 2020 fall behind us and look forward to a more stablised 2021.
On the Monday morning, our AGM was held at Burleigh Golf Club, followed by a presentation from Bidfood’s National Accounts Manager, Brett Campbell. Brett gave attendees an overview of the company and the various ways they can support GMA in a true collaborative relationship.
Host club General Manager, Ian Cottle, then provided an update on the great progress Burleigh Golf Club has achieved over the past seven years. The club has had a big turnaround financially, now with a current course upgrade, as well the retirement village that was built on their land next to the 10th hole. Ian provided some very good insight into the entire process and the future for the club, which is now in good stead for decades to come.
Members and corporate partners went off for a round of golf on a nice steamy day! The format for the day was equal part fun, part interesting, and partly steamy; played in groups of two - 6 holes 4BBB, 6 holes Alternate Shot, and 6 holes Ambrose.
The gift beach bags from Heineken were a great addition, and of course, the most talked about by the attendees.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of our GMA members and their families, and to our corporate partners, who allow us to hold events like this. We cannot thank you all enough for your support and we look forward to working together again in 2021.
